Lake Le Croix
Lake Le Croix completed 2008. Lake Le Croix is a acrylic abstract landscape painting on a 2.5' x 8' canvas. This pianting came about after I took a high adventure canoe trip in the Boundary Waters one summer. It is a view from sitting in the canoe looking at pictographs on the side of a cliff and it was really windy that day on Lake Le Croix so the water was crashing into the rocks splashing up. I tried a new technique in this painting by not using a single paint brush. This piece was all done with drywall tapers palette knife ranging from a 2" to 12" wide. I wanted to challenge myself to use new ways to apply the paint. After I started with the palette knife I realized how much fun it was and more free it felt. I encourage people to give this a try if you enjoy painting. Visit my full web site at www.baumanart.com
